Author Guidelines

Law Justified Magazine accepts submissions on a rolling basis throughout the year. New submission shall be made through filling of online             only, wherein authors are required to submit manuscript files along with applicable documents, required relevant details, declaration and consent.

The manuscript should not be submitted simultaneously to another journal, book, blogs or in any other forms in any platform for consideration. Manuscript must be original and not have been published elsewhere in any form or language, whether in part or full.

Publishes short length articles only. It allows a maximum of 3 authors in a manuscript. In case of more than one author, corresponding author must be identified among co-authors in submission form. The corresponding author shall be responsible for all communication and compliance of all Law Justified Magazine requirements. Corresponding author shall act on behalf of all co-authors as their agent / representative. Any communication made to the corresponding author shall be deemed to be communicated to all co-authors.

Category of Manuscript

Article should be in short length, commentary of legislative enactments, discussion on specific sections, provisions, clauses, rules, regulations, policies, preamble, aims and objectives thereof; and commentary of court judgements whether decided or admitted if it opens Pandora's box of legal issues in changing times. 

Besides that, submissions on procedural laws, and customary rules and procedures related to drafting and pleadings prevailing in the particular courts, tribunals and other authority / offices is also encouraged.

Word length should be between 1,500 and 4,000 of the whole manuscript that includes title, abstract, keywords, main text and citation in footnote.

Formatting Requirement

  1. File type: Submission of manuscript should be made in editable Microsoft Word file not having any identity of author through online manuscript submission form only. Manuscript submitted through other modes such as email shall not be acceptable.

  2. Page: Size A4, Margin 1 inch uniform all sides, single column.

  3. Language and spelling: Manuscript should be written in the British English language using British spellings.

  4. Structure of manuscript: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Main text, and Conclusion.

  5. Title: Concise, sentence case, bold, 12-point Times New Roman, alignment justified, not more than 30 words.

  6. Abstract: Word length should not exceed 100 words, sentence case, plain font, 12-point Times New Roman, alignment justified, 1.5 line spacing.

  7. Keywords: 4-5, sentence case, each word separated by comma, plain font, 12-point Times New Roman, alignment justified, 1.5 line spacing.

  8. Heading: Bold, concise, sentence case, 12-point Times New Roman, alignment justified.

  9. Text paragraph: Sentence case, plain font, 12-point Times New Roman, alignment justified, 1.5 line spacing.

  10. Page number: Pages should be numbered using Arabic numerals at the bottom right side.

  11. Abbreviation: Abbreviations should be defined at first mention and used consistently thereafter throughout manuscript.

  12. Italicise non-english words and phrases such as in toto, res ipsa loquitur etc.

  13. Do not bold, italicise or underline any words or sentences for emphasis. If emphasis is material for discussion and required to be given, put them within ‘single’ quotation marks for emphasis. However, unnecessary emphasis is generally discouraged. 

  14. Date: Date should be in format: 01 January 2025.

  15. Number: The numbers from one to ten should be spelled out. Figures in Arabic numerals should be used in case numbers are above ten.

  16. Do not use symbols to state currency, use currency code such as INR, USD etc. only.

  17. Quoted text should be put within the “double” quotation mark. Quotations of more than 50 words should be typed in a separate paragraph and indented on both sides by 1 inch of the margin, within “double” quotation marks. Please do not italicise quotes.

Citation

  1. Law Justified Magazine follows OSCOLA: Oxford University Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities, 4th Edition.

  2. In case of a difference between OSCOLA and the Law Justified Magazine specific guidelines and policy, the latter one shall prevail and the same has to be followed.

  3. Footnote citation: Full citation should be provided in footnote. Numbered using Arabic numerals, plain font, 10-point Times New Roman, alignment justified, single line spacing. Provide web link/doi wherever available. Also provide an access date of online sources. 

  4. In-text citation: In-text citation should be numbered using Arabic numerals, superscript.

  5. Table and figure citation: Any previously published material in the table or whole table and/or figure, if used by author in the manuscript must be in-text cited using Arabic numerals and full citation should be provided in footnote as per citation formatting guideline.

Tables/Figures

  1. All tables are to be numbered using Arabic numerals in consecutive numerical order such as Table 1, Table 2 etc.. Placed in appropriate places within the text.

  2. Table caption: Top, plain font, 12-point Times New Roman, alignment justified.

  3. All figures are to be numbered using Arabic numerals, inserted within the manuscript at the respective position in the text in consecutive numerical order such as Figure 1, Figure 2 etc.

  4. Figure caption: Caption should be in bottom of figure, plain font, 12-point Times New Roman, alignment justified.

  5. Only good quality figures should be provided.

Permission

  1. If authors have used text passages, tables, figures or any other materials in the manuscript then it is the responsibility of the author to obtain necessary permission from its copyright owner.

  2. Authors are also required to provide a copy of permission letter/consent letter wherein it must mention the consent for electronic use or print use or for both or any other form from its original owner/copyright holder. However, any material received without such evidence will be assumed to originate from the authors.

Authors have to make statement and declaration on the following mattes:

  1. Originality Statement: The manuscript has not been submitted simultaneously to another journal, book, blogs or any other forms / platforms for consideration. Manuscript is original and not have been published elsewhere in any form or language, whether in part or full.

  2. Permission: Authors have to declare that they have obtained necessary permission from the copyright owner, wherever required. Authors take full responsibility for the materials used and presented in the manuscript. Neither the affiliated institution / organisation nor the Law Justified Magazine and/or publisher are responsible for the same.

  3. Competing Interest: Authors have to declare conflict of interest, if any, whether financial or non-financial interests that are directly or indirectly related to the manuscript submitted for publication.

  4. Funding Source: Declaration on funding sources, if any.

  5. Acknowledgement: Acknowledge the work of persons from whom any service has been obtained in research and drafting of manuscript, who do not qualify for authorship. An acknowledgment statement has to be made mentioning the name of said person or organisation / institution with address, wherever applicable.

  6. Plagiarism: Statement and declaration that the manuscript is free from any kind of plagiarism. Similarity percentage is within 10% including Artificial Intelligence generated content.

  7. Statement that the views and suggestions made and presented in the manuscript are the author's own views. Neither it reflects the affiliated institution / organisation nor the journal and / or publisher. The author takes full responsibility for the views and suggestions made and presented in the manuscript.

  8. The author does not infringe the copyright or any other rights of any other persons / third party and that the manuscript does not contain any obscene, offensive, defamatory or racially prejudiced material.

  9. Corresponding author has obtained consent from all co-authors to submit manuscript on their behalf and communicate with the Law Justified Magazine for all matters related thereto, wherever applicable.

  10. The author has read all the guidelines, policies of the Law Justified Magazine as mentioned in the website and by submitting a manuscript, agrees to all of them.

  11. The author agrees that noncompliance of any or all of guidelines, policies of Law Justified Magazine and instructions received from the Law Justified Magazine and / or its publisher, submitted manuscript shall be liable to be rejected or in case published shall be retracted, as case may be.

  12. Any other statement and declaration as required, case to case basis.

Author(s) have to provide consent that:

By submitting manuscript to the Law Justified Magazine, the author grants full consent to Law Justified Magazine and/or its publisher to edit, modify, make changes to the manuscript and do all work in connection to the submitted manuscript which is necessary to do so for the publication of submitted manuscript in the Law Justified Magazine.
